We started Shisca because millions of urban Indians want everyday home food, and the home cooks who could provide it had no platform built honestly for either side. Today that's 200+ verified kitchens serving 12,000+ customers in Hyderabad.
Our story
India's cities run on people who are far from home food. Working professionals and dual-income families eat out every day. Elders and people living alone have no reliable source of simple, fresh, home-style cooking. And most of urban India is cut off from the specific dishes their own region makes.
The apps that claimed to solve this were full of cloud kitchens and small restaurants presented as home cooks. The one thing people actually wanted — real home food from a real home — was the one thing nobody could guarantee, because nobody had verified it.
What we do
Shisca is a hyperlocal marketplace for genuine home-cooked food. Not a cloud kitchen dressed up as homely. Actual home kitchens, run by real people, individually verified by a human, cooking fresh only after you order.
From the same verified network you can order a single meal, subscribe to home food every day, buy festival specials from homes actually celebrating, or request anything at all and have nearby kitchens quote for it.
Most of our kitchens are run by women.
Shisca lets people earn from a skill they already have, in a kitchen they already own, on hours they choose. In practice, that is overwhelmingly women — cooking for their families anyway, and now earning from it without leaving home or changing their routine.
It is also why we gate onboarding on real demand. Signing up a cook who then gets no orders is not opportunity, it is a waste of their time. We would rather turn someone away honestly than take them on and have them earn nothing.

We would rather have fewer kitchens than let a cloud kitchen call itself homely. That is the whole promise, so we do not bend it.
Honest about freshness
Home food is cooked after you order. We show the prep time up front instead of pretending it appears instantly.
Cooks earn, or we do not onboard them
We check whether an area actually has unmet demand before letting a kitchen open. Saying no protects the cooks already there.
Regional food deserves a place
Most of urban India is displaced from somewhere. Custom requests exist so the dish from your region is never unavailable.
